It seems to be legal, but I don't know much about the legal details. You'd be best to contact the people behind the project. Check out the website and send them an email.

Hi, I was just wondering if I could do something like this in my town. We bought a house a year ago and had to totally remodel the place as it was a wreck! Is it legal, do I have to get a lawyer involved? What could I do, it is very interesting and really got my attention. I am in Ontario Canada and this interests me a lot. Thanks Nancy
